How Hosting Impacts On Your Conversion Ratesposted on 17 May 2012 in ComputersHosting is often the most overlooked area of web design. To many developers, they just view the server as somehwere to FTP their files too - job done. They have no idea what kind of impact their scripts have on their server, and therefore won't know how to improve their programming skills by reducing that impact - because they can't really measure the impact. By learning the basics of server management - for example going on a vcloud training course - a web developer can get the full picture of what web design is all about - they can see the resources being used by their scripts and look to learn techniques like caching to improve performance. They will learn that servers are much more than a mere FTP port - they're an opportunity to speed up page times, to add new components to in turn add new facilities to their websites too. |

My Life Passed Before My Handlebarsposted on 15 May 2012 in Recreation and HobbiesLet me start this story by saying that I am an avid biker. I always have been. One day, my roommate and I decided to go on a 26-mile bike trek through our local national park. We were riding on gravel carriage roads, sticking to the well-traveled middle lane where there was no loose gravel. We got going, and were riding along at a pretty good pace. After a bit, we took a turn that took us off the short and well-traveled roads to start out around the base of a mountain. We noticed right away that this put us on roads with no packed center. So, we were cruising along with me in the lead and having a great time going as fast as we could with nobody to slow us down. We got to a steep hill, so I went into full tuck and started screaming down as fast as I could get the bike to go. This probably put me up around 30 miles per hour I was really moving. Then, with no notice at all, the road took a very sharp hairpin turn to the left. Out in front of me, I could see nothing but the middle of trees the hill had dropped away sharply, so it was about a 20 foot drop. My life passed before my handlebars, and I had to jam both brakes and lay the bike down on its side to skid slowly to an agonizing stop about 3 feet from the boulders lining the drop-off. Needless to say, I was shaken pretty badly and didn’t hit those kinds of speeds for the rest of the day. Nowadays I work for a cycle shop in London, so my love for bikes is still there. |

A Small Information About The Blackberry Setposted on 14 May 2012 in TechnologyAs cell phones are used by every person that is why we know how to use their functions. The ordinary cell phones such Nokia 6030 or Samsung x-100 can be handled by every body. The expensive cell phone sets have many functions and these functions are rarely used by every individual. Moreover, in these expensive sets there is not any option to wipe the songs and softwares. I can wipe them and a lot of people ask me how do I wipe my blackberry set. The answer to this question is that you will have to install the software to uninstall the songs or other games or you will have to go the mobile shop who deals with installing and uninstalling the songs and software from these precious mobiles. Whether these programs can be wiped or not from the blackberry sets, yet these mobiles are much demanded by the youngsters because there are options to use internet. You can also use skype and gmail to your blackberry cell phone set. I will recommend this set to be used. |

Email System and Phone Line Down Equals Happy Agentsposted on 12 May 2012 in UncategorisedWhen I got back from lunch the other day I was met with news that the email server is down and so is the phone line so we would not be taking calls until it is fixed. Of course that meant gossiping around and I was more than happy to join in. I was actually hoping management would announce that we could all go home but that didn't quite happen much to my dismay but we did have about 3 years of doing nothing but just chitchatting. While the rest of the agents were busy talking, giggling in groups Anya was sitting in her station casually browsing the web while muttering about not getting the ebay confirmation on her email. When I heard this I wacked her in the head lightly laughing as I did so saying how on earth would she get an email when our email system is down. She looked at me as if I had just said something miraculous and when it finally sink in, she laughed well we both ended up laughing. |

How internet users neglect outlook and its importanceposted on 10 May 2012 in ComputersIn school when I was doing my computer classes, I was taught a lot of things about Microsoft word and publisher and it was really fun in class since we came to know a few computer techniques. Growing up with a PC is not actually knowing things about it, you can grow up having a computer in the house and yet all you do with it is play games and nothing else, however, if you go to class and learn, then you get to know how to set up very many things that you may never have known prior. When it comes to emailing, we simply know about gmail and yahoo, however we do not know much about outlook and this is one of the most important things that any person especially if you are in high school and or college needs to know very well. You will realize that in college, the lecturer can help you understand well how to use this and also, if you have self interest you can research and know about it yourself, it is good to know more about microsoft outlook 2003 help first before you progress to the latest 2007 and 2010 versions. This is just so you can be well versed with the technology changes in outlook navigation. |

On Meeting Half Way and Backing Downposted on 9 May 2012 in UncategorisedI only ever get into arguments at home when my opinion, or understanding of something, is different from the other persons. I get upset when people argue and I'm no good at it myself, but I've always found talking about it, talking through why we disagree means someone ends up either realizing they were wrong, which is sometimes me, and sometimes they or I come to appreciate the other perspective - a kind of mediation can occur between the arguing parties. My girlfriend and I were arguing just today about the layout of a building. She was certain that a particular view was the back, but I thought that was the side. We couldn't be sure without going there to check, but she was so sure, I backed down and assumed it had to be me that was wrong. We didn't really resolve it but we accepted we don't agree. Sometimes that's the only way out, to accept that you can't know for sure and leave it at that. Shouting about it isn't my style, but my girlfriend would say I have a particular tone of voice when I don't believe something is right. |

On Keeping Prices Down in Grad Schoolposted on 7 May 2012 in Business and FinanceSince entering grad school and becoming unemployed I've made many different steps towards becoming more frugal. One of which is joining sites like mturk and swagbucks to get a little extra income, as well as investing money I save in long term savings plans. I started shopping at ethnic markets for produce, The fruit/veggies are usually much cheaper there, I just need to get used to occasionally running into rotting fruits. The only time I go into regular grocery stores is to hit up all markdown sections (I know what time and where they put markdowns at the ralphs and fresh and easy nearest to me). My clothes are primarily from thrift stores and if I need something and the need isn't urgent I try and find it at the thrift store or on craigslist first. I stalk the free section of craigslist and have gotten a lot of my furniture after I moved for free. I also volunteer a lot, many of the places I volunteer at feed me for free and allow me to bring home any extra food. |

The Fun Of Learning Xml For My Myspace Profileposted on 7 May 2012 in Arts and EntertainmentI recently signed up for an account at Myspace. Well, as you know, I&rsquom not really an addict of social networking sites, such as Facebook and Myspace, unlike most of the young people nowadays. The reason why I signed up at Myspace is because I am overly hooked with the band who collectively call themselves as The Script. When I stumbled upon their Myspace account, I did not hesitate to open my own account so that I would be able to listen to their songs and music videos via their Myspace page. But lately, I was experimenting on how do I center my text on myspace, considering that I&rsquom still new and unfamiliar to the site yet. And I just found out that I just need to use an XML code like this: text here. I&rsquom not really an expert to all this XML thingy but I find the codes interesting especially that I can also change the font style and font color of my writing in my profile at Myspace. Thanks for The Script coz I know these things now. |

A Kid Friendly Garden: Just What Every Family Needsposted on 5 May 2012 in Home and GardenThis spring, I planted a garden with my kids in our backyard. I made it a family project. First, we went to our local library and picked out lots of gardening books and read about it. I cleared away the shed to make more room for our vegetable patch. Then, we went to our local Home Depot and each kid got to pick out three kinds of plants that they wanted to grow. That was fun - we got a really wide variety of what they wanted to grow. Then, all summer the kids worked the garden with me. Our garden was unlike anything you'd see anywhere! It was a mix of flowers and veggies. But the kids took so much pride in it! They loved getting dirty and caring for the plants. And they learned some good lessons about sustainability and healthy eating. Recently, we got our garden ready for the winter and the girls were very sad. I bought some mole repellers as my neighbours have had a pest problem, so I might as well prepare that we may too. But, they are already talking about the gardening we are going to do next summer! |

The Restorative Power of Hot Tubsposted on 5 May 2012 in Home and GardenRecently, my life has been hectic. Unbelievably hectic. I thought that the only way to unwind would be to take a weeks’ holiday and lie on the beach. However, I discovered otherwise. I bought a deal for a stay local hotel – about 40 minutes away. Nothing too fancy, fairly regular. I was there for less than 24 hours, and of those 24 hours I spent about 3 of them in the hot tub in the spa. The combination of not being at home and the outrageous luxury of sitting in a heated bubbly pool was more restorative than I could possibly have imagined! I head to the hot tubs direct now when I get the chance. Just those brief moments of luxury soothed my mind, my worries vanished and I returned the next morning with a bright new perspective and ready to work. Sometimes it just takes a small gesture of self-care to remind yourself what life is really about. Other Sources: tagged.com | publicrecords.com | www.danz.co.uk |

A Beautiful Wedding Turns Into A Sloppy, Eyebrow-raising After Partyposted on 5 May 2012 in UncategorisedI find it funny to see all the pomp and ceremony at weddings with two people exchanging rings (or whatever they choose as a symbol), and I imagine the hen party / stag party the few days before. While there are some truly beautiful wedding reception venues in Leicestershire that can act as a spectacular backdrop to a special day (such as my friend's wedding), I always smile remembering the hijnx at the hen / stag parties just a few days before. I recently returned back to my home town to be present for my good friend's wedding. The weekend before I had traveled to a bigger city for her bachelorette party where I met some of her friends, and learned about what an awful maid of honor her best friend was being. Of course, while we were there a "stripper" came...no worries, it was all for fun and was harmless. Turns out he was her brothers roommate playing a trick on her. Fast forward to the wedding. The rehearsal was rocky because her maid of honor showed up later, from what I was told. The ceremony was beautiful, from what I could see. I had to sit in the back corner! She looked wonderful and the actual wedding ran smoothly. After it was over we all met up at local building for the dinner and dance. Again, the maid of honor showed up LATE along with three other bride's maids. We ate, then it was time for the toasts. The maid of honor stepped up to the microphone and slurred her way through an awful 10 minute toast, most of which she had to re-read. She was drunk. To make things better, she was barfing in the bathroom 10 minutes later, but headed straight back to the bar. The dance began and it was the best wedding march ever! My dance partner turned out to be the "stripper" at the wedding. Lucky me. The night went fairly smoothly and I can say it was one of the most memorable weddings ever. |

Driving in Los Angeles: Merging and Traffic and Road Constructionposted on 4 May 2012 in Cars and TransportI work from my van, and am proud of it - I've got some elaborate van styling like this site illustrates that really makes it look the bees knees. Only one problem - I hate driving in Los Angeles. It's not the traffic as much as the way people drive in traffic. So I get honked at for merging, as though I ought to have researched in advance which lane I should have been in. There also always seems to be road work on major freeways late at night, so I get the privilege of driving in traffic no matter what time of day or night. And then, when a lane is closed and I have to merge, people don't want to let me over. Is it my fault they chose to do road construction? Again, I guess I should have researched it in advance in order to avoid the lanes they are working in. Do newer cars have GPS systems that show where there will be construction or people merging and so those drivers never make the "mistakes" that I do? People also don't understand the every other car concept. Please learn to merge correctly and be kind to those of us who might not always know which lane we need to be in. |

Contacting paypal for problems in online paymentsposted on 2 May 2012 in Business and FinanceConsidering that paypal has become one of the most used online payment systems, many people have reverted to consider them as reliable and thus have had their payments and purchases through their platform. This is what has caused the growth of the company and not paypal has grown to become a global company. You may however have some problems with them that may result to you having to contact them via telephone. When I had a problem with my paypal account and I was unable to receive payments. This was very stressful since I had sold some products online through ebay and I needed to get the payments from the people who had placed their bids. I used paypal contact tel to access them and my problem was sorted out immediately. These are just but some of the efficient assistance that you can get from paypal if you contact them through their telephone numbers. I later was able to receive payments and contacted my bidders for the transactions. This is truly one of the most used means of payments because of their efficiency in service deliver. |

Look Forward to Your Dental Checkupsposted on 2 May 2012 in Health and BeautyGetting your teeth checked and cleaned once (preferably twice) a year is important for many reasons. These days, dentists are high tech places that deal with all kinds of up-to-date procedures like dental implants. In fact, my Essex dentist has done some great dental implant work for myself over the years. A healthy mouth contributes to good health overall, since mouth bacteria can get into the rest of the body. Your dental checkup and cleaning should be something you look forward to as a way to improve your well being. It is also an opportunity to be commended for a job well done. Good oral homecare can make an amazing difference. If the dental assistant doesn't have to work very hard to clean your teeth, because you have kept them so clean yourself, then the experience is quick and virtually painless for you. Also, the probability that the dentist will find a cavity or gum problems is much, much lower. Any problems that do start to creep up can be addressed early, and therefore will be less painful and expensive. It is entirely possible that you will be able to fix them yourself by going home and being more dedicated to brushing and flossing. So think of having a partnership with your dentist. He/she will keep you on the right track with your own self care, and will provide an early solution to anything you can't fix on your own. |

Planning for an Anti-fungus Spray Next Weekposted on 1 May 2012 in Home and GardenI live in Vietnam where heat and humidity is a serious issue. I spend much of my time under my garden gazebo - with its outdoor led lights - if I'm out in the garden, just to keep myself out of the sun. After a year or two, ever wall in a house will have a black moldy covering. It dulls the paint and has a tendency to blister the paint after a few years more. It is almost unavoidable. I feel that there must be a way to defeat the mold around my house and on my things. The best way that I have found is to do a yearly spray around the house with a bit of anti-fungus solution. Winter is coming so I need to get on it myself. My main concern with the spray is that it is not very healthy for my children and so I need to schedule it as a time when the children are gone. When they go back to America next week to visit their grandparents, I will break out my gas mask and my rain coat and go after it. Wish me luck. |

Ideas to Make My House Absolutely Perfectposted on 30 April 2012 in Home and GardenThere are a lot of things I would like to change in my house. One of the things I don't like about it, is the fact that it is quite small, and we have a huge backyard, so what I would love to do is to extend the kitchen in order to have more space for a beautiful breakfast table, and maybe even install one of those garden studios to give me a place of peace and quiet where I can work. While making the kitchen bigger, it would also mean I could expand the bedrooms in the upper floor, so I would expand my bedroom to make some space for a huge walking closet because the closet I have now is quite small and it's impossible for me to get all my stuff well organized. Since I believe there would still be lots of space, I would love to have a big balcony in which I could have a nice set of chairs to hang out during the summer, as well as lots of beautiful flowers. |

How Speech Therapy Really Helped Me in Businessposted on 16 April 2012 in UncategorisedI didn't have an obvious problem with my speech. No stutter or stammer, and I could pronounce words clearly. The problem was finding the right words. Under pressure, my brain became foggy with panic and in meetings I'd be tongue tied and silent. When asked to speak, I'd blurt out the most simple of sentences, only to chastise myself for misrepresenting my more complex thoughts that remained trapped in my head. Then I sought the help of a speech therapist and we worked through my anxieties and created techniques that truly helped me in the workplace. It's been a revelation and now I can express myself very clearly. I found my therapist online - it's easy with a search engine. For example, a simple search for speech therapy dubai brings up dozens of therapists in Dubai. Don't suffer in silence if you're suffering from communication problems - get help, you'll be glad you did. |

Growing Plants and Relationships in My Gardenposted on 12 April 2012 in Holiday and TravelMy garden is much more than just a simple garden. Sure, cultivating plants, flowers and vegetables is my passion. Also, having a get-together under the gazebo canopy is a joy too. I love the idea of creating something beautiful from a few basic seeds. My flower garden that belongs to my french farmhouse is the talk of the town. Vivid reds, purples, yellows - all beautifully emanating from a 20-by-8-foot planter box. However, the true joy I get from my garden is the relationship it has allowed me to build with my grandsons. Every time they visit me from up north, their first question is, "Can we work in the garden, Grandpa?" Rather than sit inside watching cartoons or going to the local amusement park, we spend the first day of their trip in the garden. I teach them about different plants, they uncoil the hose and provide the water. Throughout the visit, we scan the garden, watching the flowers blossom and tomatoes start to appear and redden. It is a great way to interact with my family. |

What I'd Truly Desire to Change Around My Houseposted on 10 April 2012 in Home and GardenSee, if I had the budget, I'd change a lot of things around my place. My house was built by my grandpa in the seventies, and it has a bit of an old fashioned look, nothing fancy, nothing classical, just a plain house, with two balconies. Firstly, my roof is really frazzled, and I need to change it, because I fear that it won't stand the next winter. Here in Serbia, we get a lot of snow during the winter, and I think that it'll break down. I would put a new roof, and make some little windows on it, to see the stars at night, while lying in my bed, comfortable and warm. Next, I have a really small kitchen, next to a small toilet on the first floor, and it's really hard for me to cook in such a small place, that's why I'll fuse the kitchen and the toilet, and make a bigger kitchen. I'll add a mini bar, and some stools, it'll be great, when my friends come over. I also like DIY, but my basement is crowded with junk, and stuff that I find no use for, so I'll clean that up, and buy power tools, for making everyday tasks easier, without needing any help. I'd add matching brass door handles for every door throughout the house. Now, I also have a little dream of going mountain climbing, so, if I had the money, I'd install fake rocks on my walls, and spend whole days climbing walls. I'm a little kid on the inside! So, that's pretty much it. I wouldn't change anything else on my house, for it's my home, and i love it the way it is. |
